What do they
teach in priest
school???? Who
are we to trust?
I realize
there are honest
ministers and
priest out
there...but how
do we know which
ones to trust?
Sept 29, 2006
DELRAY BEACH,
Fla. - Two Roman
Catholic priests
stole
millions in
offerings and
gifts made to
their parish
over several
years,
authorities said
Thursday.
Monsignor John
Skehan, who was
pastor at St.
Vincent Ferrer
Catholic Church
for four
decades, was
arrested
Wednesday night
on charges that
he stole $8.6
million from
the church,
using the money
to buy property
and other
assets,
investigators
said.
The 79-year-old
priest was
arrested at Palm
Beach
International
Airport as he
returned from
Ireland and
was being held
on $400,000 bond
on grand theft
charges.
Was this money
from all the
poor people in
the church?????

What has he
done to get
leniency? Trust?
Priest?
NEW YORK Even
the cardinal's
appeal for
leniency
couldn't keep a
New York City
priest out of
prison for
stealing
hundreds of
thousands of
dollars.
After reminding
Monsignor John
Woolsey that
people go to
jail for lesser
crimes, the
judge handed him
a sentence of
one to four
years.
Woolsey stole
more than
800-thousand
dollars from
his parish,
doctoring church
records to try
and cover it up.
He spent the
money on all
sorts of things,
including
European
vacations, fancy
watches and
country clubs.
Another
287-thousand
dollars is
missing from
church coffers,
and it's unclear
what happened to
it.
DUH????
Cardinal Edward
Egan was among
those urging the
judge to go easy
on Woolsey, who
pleaded guilty
to grand
larceny. He told
the court he was
"deeply, deeply
sorry" for his
conduct.
Was he living
it up on some
poor old widow
woman's meager
dollars that she
needed this
money for food?
