In Loving Memory

of

Daniel Scott Fry

 March 15, 1990 - March 6, 2006

Daniel Scott Fry was born March 15, 1990 in Denver, Colorado.  He spent the first year of his life in Evergreen, Colorado, with his parents mike and Debbie and older brother Alex.  In 1991 the family moved to issaquah, Washington, where the two inseparable brothers grew and played and began homeschool. The family found many friend in Evergreen Christian Church, but missed extended family who lived in Kansas and Colorado.  They moved back to Kansas in 1997 when Danny was almost seven years old.  The Fry family found a country home where the boys could enjoy the outdoors and a church home in Grace Community Church.

Danny made a profession of faith at a young age and was baptized at Grace on July 11, 1999.  He gave credit to his mother for guiding him in that decision.  And he grew in his faith as he continued to be involved in the church and youth group.  Danny continued his home schooling and began to be involved in many other activities:  Awana at church, band at Berean Academy in which he played the trombone, summer baseball, winter hockey, dirt bike racing , and other sports in home school and community leagues.  His interests were many and his dreams big.

When Danny dreamed of what or who he could be, he also took action.  When he wanted to be a cowboy, he talked, walked, dressed, and read cowboy as well as taking riding lessons.  When he wanted to be an astronaut, he studied and read about space and went to space camp..  His Most recent dreams were to become an Army Ranger, to fly, and to be in the medical profession. He worked hard at earning his commissions in the Civil Air Patrol.  He went to wilderness camp and took the courses on becoming a medic.  He became a lifeguard and pulled someone out of the pool in one of his first days on the job.  He did not do these things halfway.

Danny looked forward to his 16th birthday when he could get his driver's license.  In typical Danny fashion, he was prepared.  He had saved money, done the research and bought his dream motorcycle..  He got his learner's permit, and bought and wore the helmet and safety equipment.

Danny was riding his dream motorcycle on Sunday March 5, a beautiful sunny Kansas afternoon, when he lost control and suffered injuries which ended his life on earth.

HE leaves behind his father and mother, MIke and Debbie, his brother Alex, grandparents Mel and Bev Fry of Denver, Bob and Marguerite Wiedertstein of Hesston, aunts and uncles Merle and Evie Christner, Evan and Phyllis Wilson, and cousins Jan and Carissa Christner, Rob and Elizabeth Christner, Sheldon and Teresa Rice, Aaron, Jennie and Grace Wilson.  He is preceded in death by an uncle, Mark Fry, and cousin Kaylynn Wilson.

The family grieves the loss of someone we loved dearly, but hold on to the hope of a reunion in heaven.

Special Music at Dan's funeral was by Mark and Becky Olsen singing

"Before the Throne of God Above"

Before the throne of God above
I have a strong and perfect plea.
A great high Priest whose Name is Love
Who ever lives and pleads for me.
My name is graven on His hands,
My name is written on His heart.
I know that while in Heaven He stands
No tongue can bid me thence depart.
No tongue can bid me thence depart.

When Satan tempts me to despair
And tells me of the guilt within,
Upward I look and see Him there
Who made an end of all my sin.
Because the sinless Savior died
My sinful soul is counted free.
For God, the Just, is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me.
To look on Him and pardon me.

Behold Him there! The risen Lamb,
My perfect, spotless righteousness,
The great unchangeable I AM,
King of glory and of grace,
One in Himself I cannot die.
My soul is purchased by His blood,
My life is hid with Christ on high,
With Christ, my Savior and my God!
With Christ, my Savior and my God!
