Grandpa Stricklin

Since I was a little girl,
In all that I've been through;
You've always been my hero,
No one stood as tall as you.

You were the one who took the time,
To teach what I needed to learn;
The lessons in life you shared with me,
You shared with love and concern.

I loved you as a little girl,
And now that I am grown;
I share those lessons you taught me;
With children of my own.

Generation to generation,
I'll pass on your legacy;
I'll tell of my loving Grandfather,
And all that you mean to me.

In Loving Memory of My Grandpa

  • I remember how you had to fold up it seemed to fit into the little Carvare car that you owned.

  • I remember how you would share a Mountain Dew with us grandkids.

  • I remember how you would share a Tootsie Roll… you always had plenty in stock.

  • I remember fixing hamburgers in a little cast iron skillet ; made with pickles, and how I loved those grilled buns.

  • I remember it hurting you when I idolized my dad when I was young. I remember you trying to tell me the truth and I wouldn’t listen.

  • I remember going to the hardware store and just hanging out at the stove and talking to the other men.

  • I remember your love and kindness.
    I miss you grandfather.
  • I remember when you quit smoking.
