Billie Joe is buried in Odessa, Texas, at the Sunset
Memorial Gardens Cemetery, near many other Odessans who perished in
Vietnam. He was a 41 year old Marine with 12 years of service when he
was killed in Vietnam. Billie Joe is remembered on the
Permian Basin Vietnam Memorial
located at Midland International Airport, Midland, Texas. Wounded in
combat on 05 Jan 1970. He received three Purple
Hearts.
May his
sacrifice never be forgotten.

She did not remarry after his death and is
herself now deceased.

Dies Of Wounds
Marine SSgt Billie Wilson,
41, died at 6:15 p.m. Monday in
the U.S. Naval Hospital in
Yokosuka, Japan.
A former Marine recruiter
here, Wilson was wounded in
action Jan. 5 while serving as
a platoon sergeant in Vietnam.
He sustained a missile wound
which struck his spinal cord
paralyzing him from the chest
down.
He served with the Marine
Corps for 12 years and as a
recruiter in Odessa from April,
1966, to April, 1969, when he
went to Vietnam.
